I've got some exciting news, people. I hope you're sitting down.

I'm pregnant.

Kidding. But it's almost as exciting as that. Over the next several months I will be playing guitar for a great songwriter named Brian Vander Ark at various venues throughout the country. Even if you've never heard Brian's name, there's a good chance you may have heard his music. He was the lead singer and principle songwriter in The Verve Pipe, who had a #1 Billboard hit with "The Freshmen" back in the day.

Since then Brian has gone solo and changed his sound somewhat. I met him while touring with Kristy Kruger. We opened one of his shows and just kind of hit it off. We kept in touch, and a few months ago he asked us (Kristy Kruger, Richard Hewett [drums], and I) if we'd like to be his backing band for some shows. We said YES!

This is an exciting opportunity for me, because not only does Brian write good music, but he headlines a lot of venues in which I would love to be an opener. He's also a fan of mine and Kristy's tunes, so we'll each play a song during his set at every show. I've marked the BVA shows on my calendar, so you can tell which ones are just me, and which ones are full band.
