5 days ago I got an email from my songwriter friend Kristy Kruger. She was in a bit of a pickle, only about a week out from her southeast tour and without a guitarist. After a short phone conversation and a bit of deliberation, I decided to join her on the road. I'm very excited about my decision. I'll be playing guitar and banjo for Kristy, as well as performing some of my own tunes with her and her drummer Richard when we have longer sets. This is actually just one leg of her 50-state memorial tour in honor of her brother, Lt. Col. Eric Kruger, who was killed in Iraq. Part of the proceeds from each show will go to the Fisher House, a non-profit which cares for wounded veterans. The memorial tour is non-partisan, and Kristy welcomes people from all political backgrounds to join her in remembrance.
